Earwig’s Theatre Summer School was devised to give young people a unique opportunity to work alongside industry professionals and learn many of the core skills and crafts of theatrical production. Set up as a week long course, students work in small groups with specialist tutors acquiring, practising, and perfecting skills in all areas of the theatre such as acting, improvisation, make-up, dance/movement, circus, design and so much more.
The aim of the course is to help young people develop an understanding and love of the requirements of the theatre by working closely with professional performers in a safe, friendly and creative environment.
On the Friday afternoon we open our doors to parents and friends who can come and see some of the things we’ve been getting up to! Our final presentations are usually the highlight of a challenging and packed week.
Our theatre summer school courses run from Monday to Friday; 9.30am – 4.00pm. Participants are fully supervised from the moment they arrive until they leave; during their lunch break as well as during group sessions. All our staff are DBS checked.
